Where does your support go?
Our Studio Program:
We build relocatable, one and two bedroom studios, with a bathroom, in the backyard of a family or carers' home. The extra room relieves overcrowding, eases tension and provides young people with a secure and stable environment. The studio remains in place for as long as it’s required. Kids Under Cover will relocate a studio up to four times during its lifetime, to help other families in need.
Our Scholarship Program:
Our studio program is complemented with our scholarship program. We offer scholarships for education or job training, offsetting basic education costs to empower young people to achieve their goals. Not only are our scholarships awarded to young people residing in our studio, but also their siblings in the main home –helping break the cycle of poverty and disadvantage.
Village 21:
Village 21 was developed to provide a safe and secure shared living environment for young people aged 18-21. Beyond offering a place to live, Village 21 empowers young people with crucial employment guidance, educational pathways, and life skills for a successful transition to independence.
Each Village 21 comprises of a bespoke outdoor communal recreation setting, a communal building with a kitchen, living room and laundry and studio accommodation for six young people and two live-in mentors This layout enables the young people to grow into a sense of community whilst being able to create their own home.
